Jersey Alzheimer’s Association is a Jersey registered Charity which provides advice and support to those living with dementia and their families, carers and friends and information about dementia to the community as a whole. Since 2012 we have seen an increase of over 235% in the amount of people seeking our support and accessing our activities.
As well as offering a dementia advice and counselling service, a number of community activities and education and awareness sessions to schools, community groups, local companies and organisations we are looking to provide a meeting centre for people in the early stages of dementia and to lobby the Government of Jersey to put in place a national Dementia Strategy for the Island and to ensure that dementia is understood and is a priority in future health and social services planning.
Our vision is to make Jersey a more dementia friendly island where all those affected by dementia are understood, welcomed and supported and we are looking to recruit a dynamic and enthusiastic CEO to drive JAA forward and help us to achieve this vision.
